About the types of events we organize

Resonance Improv schedules improv events ranging from casual social jams to professional theatre ticketed shows. Our shows usually feature 3-4 improv teams.

Improv Playground (Social Jams)

These are casual events in public places, intended to be free. Playgrounds are led by volunteer improvisers.

Vibe: Improv Party
Requirements: None
Sign up required: No

Casual Shows

These shows are usually free to attend and have more of a jam feel. We strive for a mixture of experience levels among the teams at each show.

Vibe: A class showcase or brewery takeover
Requirements: Variable, typically completion of intro to improv at any improv school.
Sign up required: Yes

Ticketed Shows & Fundraisers

These shows are marketed to the public and are intended to raise funds for Resonance Improv or our partner nonprofit organizations, while giving our improvisers more performance experience.

Vibe: Community theatre
Requirements: Variable, typically intended for established teams that have at least practiced the proposed format as a team. Looking for team cohesion and comfort with your format—not a resume of performance history.
Sign up required: Yes

But That’s Not All…

From time to time, we may organize other social events and fundraisers. Stay tuned! 📺

🤝By the Community, for the Community

We’re creating these shows for the artists—to make performing possible in cities without a dedicated improv theatre. Our volunteers handle the logistics so you can sign up, show up and shine.

We’re glad to have you as a member of our tribe!
